Tafila Wind Farm(Jordan)

DL Energy and Korea Southern Power developed a 51.75 MW Wind Power Project at Tafila, located in 140km southwest of Amman, Jordan.

Project financing with International Finance Corporation (IFC) and private banks covered by Korea Trade Insurance Corporation (KSURE) was closed in September 2018. To be specific, it was the first wind farm in Jordan supported by KSURE

More specifically, Vestas is a contractor for wind turbines and EPC. The construction had started in October 2018, and the plant commenced its commercial operation in July 2021.

Recognized as successful greenfield project, it was awarded the Best Wind Farm in Project Finance Awards 2018 hosted by EMEA Finance.

Holding 50% of shares in Tafila Wind Farm, DL Energy, invested a total of $16 million.

Moreover, generated electricity will be sold to Jordan National Electric Power Company (NEPCO) under a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for 20 years.
