Highway Solar Co., LTD. was established with joint investments,
DL Energy, Korea Expressway Corporation, and Samil Energy.
The company sells electricity generated and stored by using solar panels
and energy storage system(ESS) which are installed in eight different
regions across Korea closely located to the Gyeongbu Expressway,
including North Chungcheong Province, Yeongcheon in North
Gyeongsang Province, Ulsan region, and the Jeolla line region.


It is noted that Highway Solar’s project has been highly praised for repurposing abandoned and idle roads, service stations, and land along highways as beds for solar power to generate green electricity. The generation capacity of Highway Solar panels and ESS is 5.2MW and 12.7MWh, respectively.
